Beekdaelen, Limburg, The Netherlands
Hiking route: 4380660
Provided by: Groots Genieten
You dive into an unpaved path that runs between the rolling fields of beautiful South Limburg. On sunny days, a beautiful game of sunbeams and shadows plays out here. You also have nice views over the rolling fields. You also discover a beautiful piece of forest: Het Oude Bos (D\\\'r Ouwe Bösj). A little further on you pass Wijnandsrade Castle, the western part of which dates from the sixteenth century. Between the castle and the centuries-old Stefanus Church you can see the thirteenth-century motte, on which the first version of the castle once stood. In Wijnandsrade itself there are several characteristic Limburg buildings such as the beautiful half-timbered farms that you see here in abundance. You walk back along the Hulsberger Beemden nature reserve.
