Tour of Schiedam, Vlaardingen and Broekpolder

You start at the Havendijk Hotel in Schiedam. Vlaardingen is considered the herring city of the Netherlands. Fishing has always been important in the city's history. After a visit to this nice city, it is time for the second part of the route: the Broekpolder. This route takes you through this rugged nature reserve of forests and water features. In the Broekpolder you will find a beautiful mix of forests, open spaces and water features. It is wonderful to stroll through nature here. And so close to the city! Then you cycle west to Schiedam. Here you can still see beautiful industrial heritage, because the city is known for its gin history, which is still fully present in the old ports and warehouses in the center.
