Cycle route from Hardenberg to Kloosterhaar

This cycle route takes you from Hardenberg to Kloosterhaar and back via the Vecht. During this route you will enjoy breathtaking landscapes, beautiful nature and cultural sights. We start the journey in Hardenberg, a beautiful city in Overijssel. From here you cycle in the direction of Kloosterhaar and you will pass the Engbertsdijksvenen nature reserve. This peat bog area is an important breeding ground for many birds and offers a beautiful view over the extensive heaths. From Kloosterhaar you continue cycling to the Vecht. The river that flows right through Overijssel takes you past Nature Activities Center De Koppel where you can learn more about the local flora and fauna by doing fun activities. The center offers various experiences and exhibitions for young and old. After this nice stopover, you continue the route along the banks of the Vecht. Enjoy the calm rippling water and the green banks as you cycle back to Hardenberg. You are almost back in the center of Hardenberg, where you can visit the historic Molen de Oelemeule. This mill dates from 1533 and was last restored in 1996.
