TOP Nature walking route Mastbos

Enter the ancient Mastbos in any season and you will be treated to an enchanting spectacle. Amidst trees that have defied time for 500 years, you can enjoy the rays of sunshine breaking through, the falling leaves and the winter scenes in complete tranquility. This beautiful and varied walking experience along the junctions through the Mastbos near Breda is suitable for the whole family.

The walking route takes you further along the banks of the river Mark in the picturesque Markdal and past the enchanting Kasteel Bouvigne, which dates back to the fifteenth century. During your walk you will also pass the Speelbos Boeverijen, where climbing and scrambling are the order of the day. The Mastbos, located on the southern edge of Breda in the Ginneken district, is one of the oldest coniferous forests in the Netherlands and offers an impressive area to explore.

Want to catch your breath after your walk? Near the castle you will find the charming Ginnekenmarkt, a cozy triangular square with a village pump and a range of cozy cafes and restaurants. An authentic Brabant atmosphere to enjoy!
