Description

A beautiful route through the narrowest part of the Netherlands. The start is at the border with Germany, but first we cycle towards Born and Grevenbicht. Then we take the bicycle ferry to Belgium where we go north to Maaseik. A beautiful route with beautiful water and bird-rich nature reserve along lovely roadside and wild flowers. Once we arrive in Maaseik, there is of course the possibility to deviate from the route for a break and visit the centre with the market with terraces. Then back to the Netherlands along Roosteren, Holtum -with the castle of the same name- towards Susteren where we pass terraces again. A little further on you can also choose coffee house Ijzerenbos. Then we go along forest and fields towards Germany where we arrive at the westernmost point of our eastern neighbours. Via Nieuwstad we arrive back at the starting point.
