SUN SEA BEACH
A new route for sunny days, a breath of fresh air through beautiful meadows, a beautiful view over the IJsselmeer. You can use Dedgum as a starting point, you go left to Parrega. Via Allingawier, Experience Village, you arrive in Idsegahuizum. Do you want to go to Makkum? There is a large beach, a boulevard, nice shops and restaurants. You can also choose to go'down\\\' along the IJsselmeer coast, via Gaast to Workum (don't forget to look over the seawall at Gaast!) Workum also has a beautiful beach, a shallow swimming spot suitable for children. There is a special section for kite surfers. Workum itself has the Jopie Huisman Museum and the church museum. In the city there are two supermarkets and there is a large cozy square where you can go for an ice cream or a drink, the Merk. After Workum comes the old port city of Hindeloopen. It really is a beautiful town. Get off your bike here and walk through the sunny streets. A city to discover for yourself. It has the Skating Museum and the Hidde Nijland Foundation, information about culture, traditional costumes. Hindeloopen still has its own language! Along the beautiful IJsselmeer coast you arrive in Molkwerum, which used to be at least as important as Hindeloopen, but history has taken a turn. Go to the Bakkerswinkeltje, where they can tell you a lot about the history of this special village! Molkwerum has just set up a panel route, so visitors can learn more about the village through photos and information. Continue your route via Koudum to it Heidenskip, a rural area, the polder! Known from the book the Oerpolder. You are now in the pontjes area. You need this to get to Gaastmeer, a water sports village par excellence, and eventually to Nijhuizum. Nijhuizum is home to an ice cream farm'Margje\\\', so it's wonderful to cool down. Via Workum you cycle through the Workumermeer (pumping dry around 1880) back to Parrega and Dedgum.
