Cycling along the Maas and through Roermond

Around Roermond it is wonderful to cycle along the Maas. At node 61 you have a beautiful view over the Swalmdal. Further on you drive along the Maasplassen, the largest continuous water sports area in the Netherlands. In Asselt you pass the St. Dionysius Church, which is built on a characteristic church hill. Then you drive into Roermond with its beautiful historic city center. Step off to enjoy all those beautiful buildings. Along the Maasplassen you drive to Heel, a charming village where you will see Castle Nederhoven. The route leads you through two green gems: the Beegderheide and the Leudal. The Leumolen is one of the many photogenic stops during this ride. Via Neer you drive to Kessel, where you cross the Maas with a ferry. The route ends at Mert 5 in Beesel.
