Description
A tour of cultural history from Utrecht to Hilversum. Along the way, you will also take in a section of the Loosdrechtse Plassen. This is more than just a water sports area: the Loosdrechtse Plassen also offer peace and quiet. You can enjoy the view while the wind blows through your hair! You will also pass through the beautiful old Hilversum. Your route will first take you through the historic heart of Utrecht. Molen Geesina is a corn mill that was built around 1843. The name is not that old: the mill was named after the miller's wife in 1941. Molen Rijn en Zon was built in 1913 and is still operated on a voluntary basis. Fort Ruigenhoek was used in the years 1869-1870 to close off the Ruigenhoekse Dijk and to defend the embankment between two inundation basins.
