Day trip to Drenthe by bike

In the National Landscape of the Drentsche Aa you cycle through a decor of grasslands, woods, hedgerows, heathlands and ash trees. This landscape has hardly changed in 150 years: the Drentsche Aa still meanders beautifully through the landscape. It seems as if you are cycling through an open-air museum in Drenthe. Where almost every other area in the Netherlands was turned upside down, people here took the landscape as it was. What a beautiful area to discover by bike!

Drenthe forests
In the Drentse Bossen you can still really experience the silence. That is why you also have the idea that you are going back in time. In the forestry of Grolloo, Schoonlo and Exloo you drive through a mix of deciduous and coniferous forests and heathlands. Sometimes the landscape undulates a bit, because you drive over the Drentse Hondsrug.
