Walking through the dunes at Bergen aan Zee

Between Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee there is an extensive dune and forest area. Ideal for exploring on foot. And of course this route also takes you along the beach for several kilometers.

Rushing surf
How wonderful it is to walk on the wide North Holland beach. While looking out over the North Sea, you can hear the characteristic soothing sound of the surf. People around you enjoy the beach in different ways: with a book, a dive or a shovel to dig a moat for a sandcastle. When the weather is nice, you can take a dip yourself, it's still a nice way to freshen up.

Beautiful dune panoramas
At Egmond aan Zee you walk onto the dune edge. Some peaks are more than thirty meters high, so that you occasionally have beautiful panoramas over the dunes and the polder landscape behind. The wind has less to say here. Especially when you walk into the dune forest, you suddenly become aware of the silence. The route ends at the cozy Hotel Meyer in picturesque Bergen aan Zee.
