Cross the German border from Oldenzaal

In addition to the bocage landscape of Twente, you also drive through a number of nature reserves, such as Het Haagse Bos near Losser. In the Lutterzand you will find a mix of sand drifts and deciduous forest. The area is intersected by the Dinkel. This stream has carved some beautiful steep banks into the landscape. Just before Oldenzaal you drive over the Tankenberg, with its 85 meters the highest point in the province of Overijssel. From this hill you look out over the beautiful surroundings. And do you understand even better why Oldenzaal once nicknamed itself the Smile of Twente. In the historic center of Oldenzaal you can still admire the thirteenth-century Sint-Plechelmus Basilica. At Landgoed Kaamps you can enjoy a coffee with farmer's pastry or a nice thick farmer's sandwich with Kaamps cheese.
