Crossing the German border from Oldenzaal

In addition to the Twente coulisselandschap, you will also cycle through several nature reserves, such as Het Haagse Bos near Losser. In the Lutterzand you will find a mix of sand drifts and deciduous forest. The area is intersected by the Dinkel. This stream has eroded several beautiful steep banks into the landscape. Just before Oldenzaal you will cycle over the Tankenberg, with its 85 meters the highest point in the province of Overijssel. From this hill you can look out over the beautiful surroundings. And you will understand even better why Oldenzaal once nicknamed itself the Smile of Twente. In the historic center of Oldenzaal you can still admire the thirteenth-century Sint-Plechelmusbasiliek. At Landgoed Kaamps you can enjoy a coffee with farmer's pastry or a delicious thick farmer's sandwich with Kaamps cheese.
