Walking in Markelo

Markelo is perfect for a day of walking. First, you walk to the adjacent nature reserve on the Herikerberg. This hill is almost 47 meters high. From the top, but also from the flanks, you sometimes have beautiful views of the Twente coulisse landscape and the surrounding villages. The route leads you through a beautiful mosaic of old forests, meadows and fields. You can walk here at your leisure and enjoy the silence. A large part of Stokkum enjoys a protected village view, here you experience the atmosphere of times gone by. From the path towards Markelo you look out over the Kattenberg and Markelose Berg. A little later you walk into Markelo where you have plenty of time to enjoy a cozy terrace at Grand Cafe De Kroon.
