Tour of castles near Venlo

Your route starts at Restaurant de Boswachter. You will soon pass through the Kaldenbroek nature reserve, an old arm of the Meuse with poplar forests, a swamp forest, and moist grasslands. Kaldenbroek Castle is the centerpiece. The small-scale landscape - managed by Het Limburgs Landschap - is beautiful to see, a look back in time. Just before Grubbenvorst you will see Huis De Steeg, a mansion from 1750. Get off in Venlo to get acquainted with the renovated Maasboulevard. You will discover Steyl on the green banks of the Maas. There are several sights here, such as the neo-Gothic St. Rochus Church from 1866, which houses the Limburg Schutterij Museum. Then you cross the Maas with a ferry to Baarlo with its beautiful castles such as Kasteel De Berckt.
