TOP Nature walking route Huis ter Heide

This walking route takes you along the periphery of the Huis ter Heide Estate. The estate, owned by Natuurmonumenten and covering approximately 650 hectares, is mainly characterized by forests in the northern part. In the southern part, known as the Loonse Heide, you will mainly find fens and agricultural land. The Huis ter Heide estate shines like a jewel within the natural beauty of Brabant.

With the"Plan Lobelia\\\", Natuurmonumenten has succeeded in bringing back the pristine wet heathland here. Flora and fauna have recovered and Scottish Highlanders provide a greater variety of vegetation. A connection has been made between the Huis ter Heide Estate and the Loonse en Drunense Duinen National Park through the construction of a wildlife viaduct, the Westloonse Wissel.

Deck bridge over Moerven

From the departure point in De Moer, the route goes south, where you walk through an acacia lane to the Galgeneind. Here you cross to the fen area where we pass the deck bridge over the Moerven. When we arrive at the viewpoint we have a beautiful view of the Lobelia nature recovery plan. The route continues along the Plakkeven and through the eastern part of the Huis ter Heide estate. You return to the starting point in De Moer via the northwestern edge and along the St. Annapadje.
