From Moeren, across the border to the Wouwse Plantage and back through Roosendaal.

We start this route in Moeren at the old, simple café In den Anker and drink a nice cup of coffee with an Ankerturfske (a kind of soft gingerbread with chocolate sprinkles). If you ask, you can park your car here, but don't forget to have a drink. The neoclassical house next door was built in 1818 and indicates the former presence of a peat bog.

Past the Wallsteijn Estate from 1810, you drive along the Breda Turfvaart, which served to transport peat, among other things, to the cities of Bergen op Zoom, Breda and Roosendaal. Cycling further you will reach the Oude Buisse Heide and you can take a look at the Angorahoeve house of the famous H. Roland Holst. Information panels have been placed if you want to know more about it. The estate dates from 1735. You soon cross the Belgian border to Horendonk and along the way you come across a guardhouse at the border near a hard stone border post with a

crotch. At the guardhouse a story about a famous smuggler from the area. Via Nispen and along the Belgian border we arrive at the Wouwse Plantage. The forest was created in the 16th century by order of the lords of Bergen op Zoom. It was later purchased by an Antwerp baron. He had a hunting lodge and a number of smaller houses built in 1845. We cycle further via Brembosch to Roosendaal. We cross a park-like part of southern Roosendaal. We cycle to the Hoekske (97). Here we go to the Roosendaalsebaan and turn left. After about 1 km, take the Achtmaalsebaan. Near Nederheide you turn towards the village of Schijf, where you can enjoy delicious food. You drive through the village and at the peat ship monument onto the Schijfsebaan. This ends on the Rucphenseweg. Here you turn right and if you continue to follow the cycle path you will automatically end up at the café in Moeren.
