Start: Rolduc Abbey (Heyendallaan 82 in Kerkrade)

Welcome to beautiful South Limburg and in particular to the municipality of Kerkrade. The present cycle route was drawn up during the Year of the Mines (2015). This gives an insight into Limburg's mining past . Cyclists pass objects and monuments that remind of Limburg's mining past . It is one in a series of four routes, which together cover most of the Eastern and Western Mining Region .

What is special about the route is that so-called time windows have been placed at various places. The time windows give an impression of the former layout of a number of historical locations.
