Heuvelland Cycle Route

The Heuvelland Cycle Route takes you to both sides of the Heuvelland: from the Vaalserberg to the Sint-Pietersberg or vice versa. As you are used to from the Heuvelland, you cycle uphill and downhill along beautiful views, idyllic villages and half-timbered houses. You even make a trip to Germany.

The hills are the guideline in the cycle route and provide the most beautiful views. Along the way in the five-star landscape you will discover more about Maastricht, Bemelen, Gulpen and Vaals. The Heuvelland municipalities of Eijsden-Margraten, Gulpen-Wittem and Vaals bear the'Cittaslow\\\' quality mark. Living slow means living well: take the time to enjoy the little things in life. It is precisely those small things that turn out to be very big in experiencing happiness and you can therefore experience it when cycling this route.

You start the route either from Sint-Pietersberg or from Vaalserberg. In Maastricht you can park at the Eye of Sint Pieter (paid parking) or on the south side of the nature reserve at Chalet d\\\'n Observant, parking lot of Natuurmonumenten (members free, non-members the same rate Eye of Sint-Pieter) . The route is easy to cycle, because you follow the special signage. You can then use the junction system to cycle back to your starting point via a different route. It is also possible to complete a large Euregional cycling tour. You do this via the Ravel 38 /39 in Belgium and then continue via the Maasroute. You will then return to the starting point.
