Experience the silence in the Achterhoek (hiking route: 774388) - route.nl

Between Eibergen and Haaksbergen it is wonderful to walk through woods and farmland. What you immediately notice here: the refreshing silence. Put on your walking shoes for a day out blowing. WatertorenFrom the starting point you immediately walk into the Achterhoek countryside. You walk along meadows that are bordered by rows of trees, fields and small woods. You soon pass through Het Loo, a hamlet of a few authentic farms. Further on you walk a bit through Hoones Bosch, a beautiful nature reserve with some heathlands. In the middle of the farmlands you see a 46 meter high water tower. This monument dates from 1935.Mallumse MolenJust past the hamlet of Mallem you walk through a small wooded area. Further on you will see a beautiful monumental half-timbered barn on the right side of the road. On the left once stood the manor Mallum, now there is a labyrinth that was laid out by a landscape artist. At Restaurant Het Muldershuis you can grab a cozy terrace. On the other side of the road you will see the Mallumse Molen, a monumental corn and hulling mill from 1748.
