The village of Haaksbergen is almost in the Achterhoek, but it still falls just under Twente. The village is surrounded by beautiful nature such as the Haaksbergerveen and the Buurserzand, but did you know that you can also take a steam train ride in Haaksbergen?
You will find the station building right in the center of the village. At this station you go back in time. The train ticket, the travelers in the waiting room and the workshop bring you back to the atmosphere of the early twentieth century. When you've seen everything in the museum, it's time to really get on the train. Leave your bike behind and take a ride to Boekelo and back. After this you can also blow off some steam in the aforementioned nature reserves in the area. Lovely tranquility...
