Walking through the Schinveldse Bossen

Put on your sturdy walking shoes for a varied walk through nature near Schinveld. First you walk on unpaved paths along fields and grasslands. After a while you walk into the Schinveldse Bossen. Here you walk along long avenues through a deciduous forest of oaks and beech trees that grow on a loess soil. A beautiful environment to take your mind off things. You will also see plants such as wild honeysuckle. In the northern part of the forest you also see plots with Scots pine, bilberry and shrub heath. Towards the end of the route you pass Nonke Buusjke, an open-air museum with old-style buildings, such as a half-timbered farm, bakehouse, syrup distillery and carpentry workshop. You walk back to HeerLux via the Bovenmeer artwork. Time for a terrace.
