Tour of Roode Beek and Schinveldse Bos

First you walk past the Leiffender Ven nature reserve, a remnant of a once much larger swamp area. The Roode Beek flows in this area, which you cross a few times. After a while you walk into Germany. Here too you walk through the nature reserve that lies along the Roode Beek. It is nice and quiet walking here, ideal for a day of relaxation. You pass the Heringshof, a farm that borders the border. Then you walk through the northern part of the Schinveldse Bossen. Mainly coniferous trees grow here that were planted on the cultivated heathland at the beginning of the twentieth century. Just before the end of the route you pass the Bovenmeer, a work of art on an artificial hill. At HeerLux you can enjoy a cozy terrace.
