The beautiful city of Apeldoorn is surrounded by greenery and offers you peace and relaxation. Explore the famous attractions such as Paleis Het Loo de Apenheul and Koningin Julianatoren, but also the cozy city center. The Old Town Hall is located in the middle of the Market Square where the weekly market can be found and the nostalgic Raadhuisplein, the terraced square of the city. There used to be a church under the spot where there is now a terrace. The now dilapidated church was demolished in 1842 to make way for the market square and the town hall. The foundations of the old church were discovered during excavations. The foundations on the square are depicted with metal lines. You don't have to go far from Apeldoorn to reach the unique departure station of the Veluwse Stoomtrein Maatschappij. This museum station and the historic steam train can be found in Beekbergen, a small village on the edge of the Veluwe. Be sure to visit the Ford Museum here, located in a 16th-century water mill where paper used to be made. You can admire a collection of vintage Ford classic cars from 1900 to 1935. Beekbergen and the surrounding area is a popular area for cyclists, hikers, but also for wildlife photographers. In the forests between Hoenderloo and Kootwijk you have a good chance of encountering wild boars or deer. Be sure to take your camera with you because the route takes you exactly through those forests... Discover the most extensive nature reserve in the Netherlands and visit the Radio Cathedral Kootwijk. This used to be a radio station that connected to overseas areas. Nowadays it is mainly an impressive cultural-historical monument. This bike tour offers everything you need for a beautiful day out on the bike
