With this special cycle route you will feel like you are going back in time more than a hundred years. The time when paper was still made in a mill and laundry was not done in the washing machine at home but in the laundry at the mill. The time when steam trains fitted into the daily scene and the beautiful first Fords were still unique in the street scene. We will guide you through elements from that time, which was certainly not a carefree time. But you can put your own worries aside and immerse yourself in this route from days gone by. Cycle past mills that were used as paper, grist or laundry mills from the early 1600s to the mid-1900s. One of these mills now houses the Ford Museum with models from the period 1907 to 1935. Marvel at the old stations of the former Apeldoorn - Dieren route. With a bit of luck or good planning, you will encounter a VSM steam train along the way. Enjoy this authentic scene from a distance or park your bike at one of the stations and ride along for a while. Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful nature reserves you cycle through along the way. The Hoenderloo forest area, the Stoppelenberg Hoeve Delle and the Kaapberg. All beautiful nature reserves where you can easily bump into red deer, foxes and boars. Or the Loenense Enk, a paradise full of flowers and herbs. Summer sees the blue of the blooming cornflowers in these fields of yesteryear.
