From Wijhe to Deventer along the IJssel

Do you like cycling along the water? Then drive this route along the IJssel. First you pass Duursche Waarden, a nature reserve of watercourses, swamp and small-scale forest. Further on you drive through Wijhe. Here you can see, among other things, the Wijhese Mill from 1703 and the fourteenth-century Nicholas Church. You cross the river on a ferry and from the dike you have a beautiful view of the river, the floodplains and old farms. In Deventer the route takes you past the Rijsterborherpark and the Nieuwe Plantsoen, two beautiful city parks. Just after Diepenveen you drive on an unpaved path through Landgoed Rande, a beautiful area. In Olst you cycle past the Bökkers Mölle, a flour mill from 1782.
