From Holten over the Sallandse Heuvelrug

From the parking lot you can easily drive into the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. Here you will find dense forests and the vast heathland that covers the Haarlerberg. Be sure to get off to enjoy the views. Or to take a leisurely look at the ancient juniper bushes and rugged oak trees. You then descend to the town of Rijssen. In the old center you will see, among other things, the Schildkerk, which has clearly undergone some renovations over time. Around junction 73 you cycle past Overtoom-Middelveen, a nature reserve that connects the Sallandse Heuvelrug with the Borkeld. Here you will see wet grasslands, orchids and water and meadow birds. You will also visit the holiday address Buiteninn Het Overveen, a nice break. The last kilometers you drive through the rural area of Holten.
