Description
Day 1 of 5 : we (6 friends) gather at Rotterdam station. From there we cycle to Oostvoorne via Schiedam, Vlaardingen, Hoek van Holland, ferry across the Maasvlakte (What engineering and logistics). The Maasroute is well indicated with its own signs. Sometimes it is useful to also have the associated junctions because of a diversion due to roadworks.
When we arrived at"the other side\\\" the door was locked. All bikes and passengers back on the boat. The skippers went looking for another mooring place. The quay was higher there. With combined forces we came ashore.
At Lenie Ozephius in Oostvoorne we, as guests of Friends on Bike, were very warmly welcomed. What a cozy (furnished) house what a great person.
In the evening we had a delicious meal in Cafe Centraal
We were lucky.
A lot of rain was predicted. We only had 2 small summer showers, one of which was when we were dry on the ferry. Furthermore, a lot of strong headwind and now and then such a\\\'. Perfect cycling weather.
