Description
Day 1 of 5 : we (6 friends) gather at Rotterdam station. From there we cycle to Oostvoorne via Schiedam, Vlaardingen, Hoek van Holland, ferry across the Maasvlakte (What engineering and logistics). The Maas Route is well indicated with its own signs. Sometimes it is useful to also have the associated junctions due to a diversion due to road works.
Upon arrival at"the other side\\\" the door turned out to be locked. All bicycles and passengers back on the boat. The skippers went looking for another mooring place. The quay was higher there. We came ashore with united forces.
We, as guests of Friends on the Bike, were very warmly welcomed at Lenie Ozephius in Oostvoorne. What a cozy (decorated) house, what a wonderful person.
\\\In the evening we had a tasty meal in Café Centraal
We're lucky.
A lot of rain was forecast. We only had 2 small summer showers, one of which was when we were dry on the ferry. Furthermore, a lot of strong headwind and occasionally such. Great cycling weather.
