Dalfsen is located just outside the bustling city of Zwolle. Explore the quiet nature reserve between Zwolle and Dalfsen with a beautiful walk. You will walk through the vast green areas on the edge of the Vecht.
Hanseatic city Zwolle
Zwolle train station in the city centre is the starting point of this walking tour. Take the train to Zwolle and start your walk here at your leisure. Going out for a day has never been so easy. The first part of the route takes you through the centre of Zwolle, which is bordered by city walls and canals. In the late Middle Ages, Zwolle was an important Hanseatic city. You can still see this today in all the beautiful buildings in the city centre. However, you will not have much time to admire the centre. After four kilometres of walking, you will already be outside the city. It is time to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.
Mataram Estate
On the way to Dalfsen you will encounter two beautiful sights. The first beautiful spot is the Mataram estate with a country house of the same name. The current country house was built here in 1905. In the forests around the estate you can still find traces of the Germans who set up rocket launch sites here during the Second World War.
On the way to Dalfsen
A little later you will pass Huize Den Berg, a country house from the first half of the 18th century. From here it is only a short walk to the end point of this route. Here you can board the train home or settle down at Grand café Het Oude Station for a nice bite to eat and a drink.
