Description
You can cycle a beautiful route between the pilgrimage sites of Smakt (near Venray) and the German Kevelaer: the Jozef Maria Route. This tour leads you through a varied landscape with historical locations from the time of the Duchy of Gelre. The Jozef Route takes you between Blitterswijck and Smakt. In Blitterswijck you will immediately find a lot of history. For example, there is a ruin of a castle that dates from the fourteenth century. At Geijsteren Estate you can take a trip (see signs) to the Gothic Sint-Willibrordus Chapel from 1543. At Veerhuys Tante Jet you can enjoy a drink, Limburg pie or meal on the cozy terrace on the Maas.
