The Koelbroek originated from an old Maas meander. You mainly walk through an alder swamp forest. In the southern part of this wet reserve you see large buttercups, black currants and marsh marigolds. A little further on you walk over the Crayelheide. This nature reserve consists of a mosaic of wooded banks, grasslands, forests and stream valleys. The Blerickse Bergen consist of a slightly undulating area of former drifting dunes. In the dry soil mainly conifers grow. Every now and then you say American bird cherry. It is wonderfully quiet walking here, especially at the Mortelsven. Around this fen grow a few more deciduous trees. At the edge of the forest you sometimes hear the meowing of a buzzard. After your walk you can enjoy a delicious meal and relax at Hotel-Restaurant Maashof.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
