Description
In this water-rich lowland you will drive along the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, but you will also see many historical buildings and mills. In Bodegraven you can spot some beautiful centuries-old farmsteads from the Dammekant. The Sint Gallus church dates from 1674. There is no shortage of mills on this route. In Aarlanderveen you will find De Morgenster, a former corn mill from 1870. Just outside this village is the only still operational mill quadrangle in the world: De Molenviergang drains the surrounding polder. You will pass Mill 4 of this mill quadrangle, a polder mill dating from 1801.
