In this water-rich lowland you drive past the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, but you also see many historic buildings and mills. In Bodegraven you can spot some beautiful centuries-old homesteads from the Damme side. The Saint Gallus Church dates from 1674. There is no shortage of mills on this route. De Morgenster, a former corn mill from 1870, is located in Aarlanderveen. Just outside this village is the only still operating mill pond in the world: De Molenviergang drains the surrounding polder. You will pass Mill 4 of this mill corridor, a polder mill dating from 1801.
