From the Wieden to historic Hasselt

Along the banks of the Vollenhovermeer, the Zwarte Meer and the little river Zwarte Water you have beautiful views of the rippling water. You can also fully enjoy the reed beds and marsh forests in the Wieden. And of course the silence. As pristine as this area looks, it has been shaped by peat extraction over the centuries. On the banks of the Beulakerwijde you can see the Foeke, a tsjasker from 1968.

Neighborhood Ronduite
From the road that separates the Beulakerwijde and Belterwijde, you have beautiful views over the water. This road, the Veneweg, has been running between the two lakes since 1775. It formed an important connecting road through the peat area between Meppel and Vollenhove. The hamlet of Ronduite is located on a peninsula in the middle between the two banks.
