Around Heerlen, Landgraaf and Brunssum it is beautiful to cycle through the rolling landscape. You will find plenty of natural beauty and cultural history here. First you cycle through the Heidserpark, a little later you cycle over the Brunssummerheide. While you cycle past conifers and heather plants, you enjoy the fresh air. Via Landgraaf you make a shortcut to the Anstelvallei, a wooded nature reserve. Here you cycle for a while along the Cranenweyer, the only reservoir in the Netherlands. Further on you see the Wilhelminaberg, a hill that was formed from the residual rock of the former Staatsmijn Wilhelmina. The accompanying castle dates largely from the seventeenth century. Finally you cycle through the Geleenbeekdal and the picturesque Amstenrade.
