Description

It is beautiful to cycle through the rolling landscape around Heerlen, Landgraaf and Brunssum. You will find plenty of natural beauty and cultural history here. First you drive through the Heidserpark, a little later you cycle across the Brunssummerheide. As you drive past conifers and heather plants, you enjoy the fresh air. Via Landgraaf you make a shortcut to the Anstelvallei, a wooded nature reserve. Here you drive a bit along the Cranenweyer, the only reservoir in the Netherlands. Further on you will see the Wilhelminaberg, a hill that was created from the residual rock of the former Wilhelmina State Mine. At Boscafé Diligence it is time for a snack and drink, after which you drive to Landgoed Ter Worm. The accompanying castle largely dates from the seventeenth century. Finally, you cycle through the Geleenbeek Valley and the picturesque Amstenrade.
