Cycling through the hills near Vaals and Mechelen

This route takes you through the hilly country between Vaals and Heerlen. First you cycle from the Imstenraderbos to Bocholtz. You then cross the border with Germany, after which you drive through Orsbach. Here you see the neo-Gothic village church and some old farms. Further on you pass through the German part of the cross-border village of Lemiers. After a while you cross the border again and cycle through the nationally protected villagescape of Vaals. You will see many monumental buildings here, and you will also pass the St. Paul's Church from 1893. Via Vijlen the route leads you to picturesque Mechelen, where you cross the Geul. In Eys you will see some square farms and the beautiful St. Agatha Church from 1734. Via Ubachsberg you cycle back to Boscafé Diligence. Time for a tasty snack.
