Cycling through the hills near Vaals and Mechelen

This route takes you through the hilly landscape between Vaals and Heerlen. First you cycle from the Imstenraderbos to Bocholtz. Then you cross the border with Germany, after which you cycle through Orsbach. Here you see the neo-Gothic village church and some old farms. Further on you come through the German part of the cross-border village of Lemiers. After a while you cross the border again and cycle through the nationally protected village view of Vaals. You see many monumental buildings here, you also pass the Sint-Pauluskerk from 1893. Via Vijlen the route leads you to the picturesque Mechelen, where you cross the Geul.
