Tour Ottersum - Spiegelwaal Nijmegen

Backwards to Milsbeek and via Plasmolen to Middelaar. There the route follows the course of the Maas until past Mook/Molenhoek. 

Cross the Maas-Waal Canal at Heumen, then continue on the western canal bank all the way to Weurt. Here turn right over the lock and via the Weurtseweg towards Nijmegen center. At the Kronenburger Park, turn right and via the"Snelbinder\\\" (bicycle bridge next to the railway bridge) across the Waal to Lent.

In Lent the route bends back to the Waal and eventually via the"Lentloper\\\" (Promenade bridge over the"Spiegelwaal\\\") to the"Veur-Lent\\\" peninsula .

Via a fairly steep entrance you reach the old Waal Bridge and head towards the Center. There the route bends under the bridge to the Ooysedijk, past the Dutch-German pumping station, which was built in 1933 to drain the water of the Ooypolder and the adjacent German polder via"het Meertje\\\" to be carried to the Waal.

The route passes via the Ooysedijk through Persingen, which is known as the smallest village in the Netherlands. The church of Persingen (see the website with that name) has a long and eventful history.

The route continues through a piece of German territory, via Zyfflich, Wyler and Kranenburg.

Ultimately, the circuit to Ottersum is completed, including just a little bit of Groesbeek.
