Tour of Klarenbeek, Deventer and Voorst

Camping De Vinkenkamp is an ideal base for a bike ride to Deventer. Via Oosterhuizen and Klarenbeek you drive to the Appense Bos, a wonderfully quiet nature reserve. The adjacent Bussloo recreation area was created as a sand excavation during the construction of the A1. Just past Twello you will pass the Holthuis, a country house built in the eighteenth century. You cross the IJssel, after which you make a tour through the historic center of the Hanseatic city of Deventer. You can see here, among other things, the old town hall and the Lebuinus Church. You cross the river with a ferry, after which you drive many kilometers through the floodplains. Here you can take a look at the ruins of Castle Nijenbeek from the thirteenth century. Via Voorst you cycle back to De Vinkenkamp.
