Tour of Klarenbeek, Deventer and Voorst

Camping De Vinkenkamp is an ideal base for a cycling trip to Deventer. Via Oosterhuizen and Klarenbeek you drive to the Appense Bos, a wonderfully quiet nature reserve. The adjacent Bussloo recreational area was created as a sand excavation during the construction of the A1. Just past Twello you pass the Holthuis, a country house built in the eighteenth century. You cross the IJssel, after which you take a tour through the historic center of the Hanseatic city of Deventer. Here you will see the old town hall and the Lebuïnus Church. You cross the river with a ferry, after which you drive many kilometers through the floodplains. Here you can take a look at the ruins of Nijenbeek Castle from the thirteenth century. You cycle back to De Vinkenkamp via Voorst.
