On to Rotterdam
The boarding point of this route is on the edge of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. From here you cycle through the polders to Capelle aan den IJssel. This city was declared the greenest city in the Netherlands in 2015 by Entente Florale. Enjoy all the greenery along the banks of the IJssel here. Then you make a circle around the Kralingse Plas and then cycle into Rotterdam. The Kralingse Plas is a green recreation area of 300 hectares. In Rotterdam you visit the center and then you cycle along the Maas for a while. There is a lot of freight traffic here, so if you like ships, you will be amazed.

From Rotterdam you cycle back to Nieuwekerk aan den IJssel. Here you can go to Van der Valk Rotterdam-Nieuwerkerk for a snack and a drink or an overnight stay. After such a day outdoors you are probably tired. A night in a comfortable hotel bed is absolutely not wrong.
