The route starts at the parking lot at the large roundabout when you enter Gennep. From there you walk to the forest and follow the path of the'German Line\\\' or'Boxteler Bahn\\\', the former railway line from Boxtel via Gennep to Wesel in Germany, once an important railway line. More info at the monument with the locomotive near the starting point.
Following this route you will eventually arrive in the German town of Hommersum, if you cross the Kendel (tributary of the Niers) via a bridge. If you then turn right, you will pass café R. Evers. If you're lucky this will be open.
You then return to the homeland and the route continues through the woods, along the fen of the Zevenmorgenziep. Then cross the Siebengewaldseweg, the route then continues over the' NATO camp\\\', a former ammunition storage depot, which was closed a few years ago and returned to nature.
Then you cross the Stiemensweg and make another round of the Hezeland forest area. Finally, the route takes you back to the parking lot.
