The Van Gogh NP Walking Route in Helvoirt takes you through the Brabant landscape and the places where the Van Gogh family lived and where Vincent felt at home. This 17-kilometre walk starts at the Holy Nicholas Church and leads you through forests, vast meadows and past enchanting fens. Along the way you will pass historic buildings, including Zwijnsbergen Castle, and natural wonders, such as the beautiful Loonse and Drunense Duinen and the idyllic Hengstven. During your tour you can enjoy scenic rest stops and breathtaking views. You can also visit farm shops for local products and make a culinary stop at Hotel De Guldenberg. With this route you follow in the footsteps of Vincent van Gogh and discover the beautiful landscape that inspired him so much.

Welcome to Helvoirt. This charming village, in the middle of the Van Gogh National Park, is located in an authentic Brabant landscape with winding streams, marshlands, sand drifts and farmlands. Vincent van Gogh and his family have a special bond with this village. It is a place of family life and inspiration for young Vincent. His father was a preacher here from 1871 to 1875. In addition to Vincent's parents, brothers and sisters, several family members live here. Vincent is only too happy to visit them. Here he comes home. This walking route is 75% unpaved. From the village center you walk through the characteristic agricultural landscape that inspired Vincent and which is largely being restored here.
