Tour of Marken - with ferry from Volendam!

Your walking route starts in the port of Volendam, where you board the Volendam Marken Express. With a drink you can enjoy the view over the water and the beautiful villages of Volendam and Marken. From the center of Marken you walk to the edge of the peninsula. You walk along the edge of IJsselmeer and the Gouwzee to the Marker Museum. Here you will learn a lot about the history of the peninsula. You can get a breath of fresh air on the edge of the IJsselmeer. You can already see Het Paard van Marken on the horizon. From afar, this lighthouse from 1839 looks like a horse. He has regularly suffered from drifting ice. In 1971, the tower was even pushed a few centimeters out of place!
