Description

Your route starts at Q-Bike in Laren. Eemnes traditionally consists of two parts. In Eemnes-Binnen you will see centuries-old farms and in Eemnes-Buiten a number of old houses that used to belong to the village center. Then you continue to the Eemmeer. This peripheral lake is 1340 hectares in size. Along the way you will pass the former fishing village of Spakenburg. This village used to be on the Zuiderzee. The houses in Spakenburg were built high against the dike to protect against regular flooding. It worked: you can still see these historic houses in Spakenburg. Then you cycle further along the Nijkerkernauw. This peripheral lake, together with the Nuldernauw, is the narrowest peripheral lake. From the banks of the Nijkerkernauw you cycle to Hooglanderveen and then to Amersfoort.
