Tour of Stavoren and Molkwerum

Your route starts at EuroParcs Hindeloopen. In South-West Friesland you can get a breath of fresh air along the IJsselmeer coast. You follow the line from the IJsselmeer coast to Stavoren. Stavoren is an old Hanseatic city that had its heyday in the thirteenth century. In the Middle Ages, Stavoren was a prosperous city where many ships moored to trade their goods. Now the attractive harbor town is mainly a tourist attraction. Where once trading ships from many corners of the world moored in the harbor, you now mainly see pleasure yachts. The cast iron Lighthouse of Stavoren is still in use. It has a height of almost sixteen meters. Molkwerum was an important fishing town in the 16th and 17th centuries, with a seaport in the Zuiderzee and even its own office in Amsterdam.
