The Utrechtse Heuvelrug is the perfect backdrop for beautiful cycling trips. First you drive through the extensive forests of Den Treek Estate. The history of this estate dates back to the fourteenth century, but the buildings that still stand today date from the nineteenth century. Then you drive through the Gelderse Vallei with its vast grasslands and ditches. You will pass Landgoed Geerestein, a private estate with oak avenues. Via Woudenberg you drive back onto the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. You can enjoy many kilometers of varied forests here. You will see some beautiful monumental buildings, such as the former forester's house Het Witte Huis. You cycle through Soesterberg, after which you cross the Hazenwater, a wet heathland plain, at Den Treek.
