Description
The Vecht Valley boasts a diverse landscape. Narrow paths along expansive meadows, fields with hedgerows, sand drifts, estates, and small rivers—you'll find it all here. Atop the 34-meter-high Besthmenerberg, a lookout tower offers magnificent views of the surrounding area. For a while, you'll follow the course of the Beneden Regge river. At Nieuwebrug, you'll cross the bridge and continue along the other bank. You'll also follow the church path, once used by the residents of Giethmen to walk to church in Ommen twice on Sundays. The charming drawbridge over the Regge is iconic. On the way there and back, you'll enjoy the beautiful Het Laer estate.
