Walking route Bernisse near Heenvliet

Your walking route starts at Markt1 in Heenvliet. After a cup of coffee, put on your walking shoes and explore both banks of the Bernisse, which separates Voorne and Putten. A beautiful natural area, loved by birds - and hikers! The Voorne-Putten area may usually be mentioned in the same breath, but the two islands are still separated by this old arm of the river. You cross the Bernisse towards Geervliet. From the polder you can see the Bernisse Mill, a flour mill from 1851. The mill was built on a former defense tower, the loopholes of which are still visible. You walk back along the banks of the Bernisse. Birds feel at home in the wet polders and around the creeks with their wide reed zones.
