Walking route Wessem - Thorn

First, you will explore the historic heart of Wessem with this route. The area around the Markt is a protected cityscape. Here you will see, among other things, the former town hall from 1860. You will also pass several seventeenth and eighteenth century buildings. At the end of the Steenweg you will see the Sint-Medarduskerk, which originally dates from the tenth century. Along the Thornerbeek you will walk to the famous white town. Just before junction 42 you will see a centuries-old farm, in the beautiful Thorn itself you can, among other things, take a look at the twelfth-century Sint-Michaëlskerk. The route then leads you back through the countryside. Walking along leafy paths you will pass a number of characteristic wayside chapels. At Grand Café - Maasterras't Veerhuis you can enjoy a drink and a snack.
