Walking route Wessem - Thorn

First you explore the historic heart of Wessem with this route. The area around the Market is a protected cityscape. Here you will see, among other things, the former town hall from 1860. You will also pass several seventeenth and eighteenth-century buildings. At the end of the Steenweg you will see the Sint-Medarduskerk, which originally dates from the tenth century. You walk along the Thornerbeek to the famous white town. Just before junction 42 you will see an ancient farm, in beautiful Thorn itself you can take a look at the twelfth-century St. Michael's Church. The route then leads you back through the countryside. Walking on leafy paths you will pass a number of characteristic roadside chapels. At Grand Café - Maasterras't Veerhuis you can enjoy a drink and snack.
