Description
This beautiful route passes some beautiful gems. From Herkenbosch it goes a bit through National Park'De Meinweg\\\'. Then via the village of Boukoul to the river Swalm.
You cycle along the meandering Swalm and through the center of Swalmen. Further along the Swalm you will pass a garden with an impressive collection of fantasy buildings - Fantasy World (small Madurodam): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5ipFQP5SwQ.
You then cycle under the A73 motorway and come across the ruins of Ouburg Castle. A little further on, in an old restored Limburg farm, is a thrift store. You can have a drink and eat there and bands perform on many Sunday afternoons.
After refreshment we cycle to Asselt aan de Maas. Here you will also find beautiful terraces where you can have a drink and eat (or just an ice cream). To the left, opposite the old church, is the cultural history museum Asselt. In addition, the care farm de Asselterhof is located. You continue past the Roermond retail park and then back to Herkenbosch.
