Description

A narrow path through the wild and romantic gorge with gurgling stream, bizarre stones and many wooden bridges. And then you leave the forest and find wild orchids and an impressive panoramic view ...

This is how hikers experience the Lochbach trail, an 8.5 km circular walk between Hülsa and Knüllwald-Wallenstein, which culminates in the wild and romantic Lochbachklamm. The path leads along a partly rugged gorge with springs, which flow over rocks, and then continues again to a meadow valley.

Over thousands of years, the Lochbach has carved its way through the soft layers of sandstone, leaving behind a deep ravine. The Waldbach overcomes 150 meters and grinds out the softer rock layers. Due to the steep slope, the creek bed is constantly deepening. Large walls made of red sandstone become visible, some are colored bluish by the water, ferns have spread under the forest roof.

With its 16 wooden bridges crossing the canyon, its numerous benches and rest areas, this premium hiking trail has become an insider tip among nature lovers.
