The Kassel discovery route goes once around the city and offers residents and tourists the opportunity to look at the city from an unusual perspective. Kids and adults can explore many questions about the 30-mile round trip and find the answers. Information panels along the trail - which are continuously being developed - draw attention to previously neglected places along the way and offer new insights and perspectives. Hercules in mind, over the hills north of the city, along the Fulda to the harbor, a brief view of Kassel's industrial development, a lap swim in Buga Lake and a drive through the historic neighborhoods - the discovery route represents diversity from Cassel.

Various break areas and playgrounds also invite you to linger. Access to the route is possible everywhere. Information boards at the intersections with Herkules-Wartburg-Radweg (east and west) and R1 (south and north) as well as at the train station Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe facilitate access to the discovery route and provide additional information about the route.
