Around Lauwersoog you can walk beautifully through the national park. First you walk to the small harbour where many cutters bring their catch ashore. Then you cross to the Lauwersoog forest which - just like the village of Lauwersoog - was created after the embankment and reclamation of the mouth of the former Lauwerszee. In the northern part of the forest there are many sea buckthorns, further on you mainly see poplars. Along the path there are several fields that are rich in orchids, centaury and parnassia. From junction 81 you walk along the beach and the rippling water of the Nieuwe Robbengat. Just before junction 41 you have a beautiful view from the path over a small marina with old boats, after which you walk over a beautiful boardwalk. The route ends at LauwersmeerPlezier!
