Description

It is beautiful to walk through the national park around Lauwersoog. First you walk to the harbor where many cutters bring their catch ashore. Then you cross to the Lauwersoogbos, which - like the village of Lauwersoog - was created after the diking and reclamation of the mouth of the former Lauwerszee. Many sea buckthorns grow in the northern part of the forest, further on you mainly see poplars. Along the path are some fields rich in orchids, centaury and parnassia. From junction 81 you walk along the beach and the rippling water of the Nieuwe Robbengat. Just before junction 41, the path offers a beautiful view of a marina with old boats, after which you walk along a beautiful boardwalk. The route ends at LauwersmeerPlezier!
